Coral Gables Museum Open Studio: Patricia Cooke

Patricia L. Cooke invites you to bring a small, unwanted plastic item (bottle, toys, packaging, etc.), an unwanted article of clothing, and your sense of PLAY! You will transform these items into a small, mixed-media piece of sculpture supported by a simple armature helping you think about how materials relate to each other, ourselves, and the world at large.

Cooke is a mixed-media artist, born and raised in Greensboro, North Carolina. Her practice is primarily fiber sculpture, integrating new technologies such as digital manipulation and laser cutting. Cooke earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art from Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina (2011), and her Master of Fine Arts in Sculpture from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida (2018).
