Open House Miami at PAMM | Designing with Water: Buoyant City, Salty Urbanism, and The Coastline

February 28 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Saturday, February 28th from 2 – 3pm join Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM), Open House Miami, and Miami Center for Architecture & Design for a program centered at the intersection of architecture, environment, and creative sustainability.

As Miami faces rising seas and stronger storms, designers are re-imagining the city’s relationship with water. This session brings together three complementary frameworks, including Buoyant City, Salty Urbanism, and The Coastline. While grounded in the hard science of climate impacts and the challenges ahead, the conversation shares a positive and hopeful message. The panelists will explore how adaptation can inspire new architectural, ecological, and civic forms, demonstrating that resilience is not only about protection but also about creativity, identity, and connection.

Before the program, join us at 12:30pm for an architecture tour of the museum, where you’ll learn about the iconic building designed by Herzog & de Meuron.
