Featured Artists
Keith Zenda is a leading contemporary Zimbabwean artist known for his distinctive visual language often described as “Zendaism.” His work combines bold symbolism, spiritual narratives, and elements of African mythology to explore identity, transformation, and human consciousness. Through expressive compositions and strong use of color, Zenda creates powerful, layered works that bridge tradition and contemporary thought. In addition to his artistic practice, he plays a key role in mentoring emerging artists and developing the Artgal Zim Center.

Tonderai Mujuru is an accomplished artist who primarily concentrates on animal subjects, capturing their strength, character, and symbolic presence with remarkable sensitivity. Working across pastel, charcoal, and oil, he demonstrates a high level of technical versatility. While animals are central to his practice, Mujuru also creates striking figurative works, including expressive portraits of young women and children. His ability to move between subjects reflects both technical mastery and a deep observational understanding of life and form.

Willard Mujuru focuses predominantly on pastel works, with a strong emphasis on portraying children. His art captures moments of innocence, daily life, and emotional warmth, often reflecting the realities and spirit of Zimbabwean communities. Through soft textures and sensitive compositions, he creates works that are both intimate and relatable. His focus on children gives his work a unique emotional depth and narrative quality. Willard Magiga presents, for the Zurich exhibition, a focused body of work consisting of three mixed media artworks depicting a rural barbershop scene in Zimbabwe. His compositions capture everyday life in the countryside, blending observation with creative interpretation. Known for his imaginative approach, Magiga combines materials and techniques to create layered, engaging works that reflect both humor and social commentary.
