Norton Museum: Art After Dark

Thursday, June 28th from 5-9pm enjoy Art After Dark at the Norton Museum of Art. The Norton is open late every Thursday night! Visit the galleries, enjoy gallery talks and special lectures, art workshops, live music, happy hour, and more. Admission is free.
5-9 p.m. / Screening: Chris Doyle’s SWELL
Don’t miss this one-night only screening of new animation work by Chris Doyle whose work is on view in the exhibition Unexpected Narratives. SWELL is the final animation in a series inspired by Hudson River painter Thomas Cole’s Course of Empire cycle.
5:30-6 p.m./ Express Tour of Norton Highlights
6 p.m./ Artist Tour: Phillip Estlund
South Florida-based artist Phillip Estlund leads an informal, 30-minute gallery tour to offer unique perspectives on works in the Norton’s collection and special exhibitions.
6:30 p.m./ Curator’s Conversation
Glenn Tomlinson, William Randolph Hearst Curator of Education, relates the story of Gericault’s The Raft of the Medusa, the masterpiece which appears as a tableau vivant in Muntean/Rosenblum’s video in the exhibition Unexpected Narratives.
6-8 p.m./ Sketchbook Thursday session in the galleries
