Arthouse 429 Art Exhibit ‘Adorn’

Arthouse 429 is pleased to announce ADORN:  The Art That Surrounds Us’, opening tonight June 12, 2014 at 6:30 pm. The gallery is located at 429 25th Street in the Northwood Village of West Palm Beach, FL 33407. The exhibit will be on view until July 12, 2014. This exhibition features work that asks its viewer to consider the space they occupy on a daily basis; whether it is a home, an office, or perhaps an outdoor setting – these environments become our living canvases, and often a reflection of ‘self’.  Is the space I occupy everyday, representing who I am and my vision? ADORN seeks to inspire it’s viewer with works they can see themselves in, looking to paintings and sculpture as additions to complete a visual statement.

This collection of work varies between the abstract field paintings of Brad Robertson that channel Mark Rothko; to Margaret Elliott’s colorful dances of post impressionistic paint depicting chairs and pianos; harmonizing with the streamlined, polished gloss of William Hallidays’ metallic sculptures-mirroring Henry Moore and Carlo Mollino.  Also included in the exhibition is the work of David Orr Wright, who utilizes DaVinci’s Mona Lisa to create a series of abstracted mixed media paintings – with the intention of reaching 1,000 paintings of the same, yet different, image. All of the works within ADORN create a rich aesthetic that comment on the irresistible appeal of formalism, which accentuate our everyday environments.
