3A3D Virtual Exhibition: Featuring Artist Celestino Ortiz’ Alter Ego

Saturday, May 2nd enjoy the opening of the virtual exhibition 3A3D featuring the work of artist Celestino Ortiz‘ alter ego Joey Neves DaSilva, the figurative side of the artist. Ortiz is best known for his abstract expressionist work, but his alter ego Joey Neves DaSilva, recently began creating figurative works, which will be showcased in the digital exhibition 3A3D. This exhibition is presented by the Puerto Rican Association of Plastic Artists. The Puerto Rican Association of Plastic Artists called APAP, a non-profit, non-governmental organization, affiliated with the Association Internationale Des Arts Plastiques (AIAP-UNESCO). The APAP is constituted essentially, but not exclusively, of plastic artists and / or creators of the visual arts, Puerto Ricans residing in Puerto Rico or outside of Puerto Rico; and by foreign artists with legal residence in Puerto Rico. 3A3D is a digital showcase of APAP artists, including an augmented reality app to show a preview of the work in any space you like. 3A3D will run for 3 weeks throughout May 2020.

 

About Celestino Ortiz: Visual Artist Celestino “Junior” Ortiz was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, he is an accomplished artist with an inclination towards the Abstract Expressionist movement, he is also well known for his signature pop art portraits. Celestino studied under the guidance and mentorship of contemporary master artists Carmelo Sobrino and Noemi Ruiz, and holds a Master of Arts (MA) in Museology/Museum Studies from Caribbean University PR in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. He has held many exhibitions over the course of his career, some of which include El Museo del Barrio and the Whitney Biennal 2017 at Whitney Museum of American Art. He is represented by A Cueto Gallery and PAMIL FINE ART. Future shows include the Museo Casa Escute in Carolina, Puerto Rico June 2020. He is also a member of PRIDA – Puerto Rican Institute for the Development of the Arts, an organization dedicated to the preservation and promotion of Puerto Rican artists and the arts.
