Miami Beach Regional Library presents The Magic of Miami Beach

Saturday, August 8th from 11am – 1pm enjoy a public reception for the opening of The Magic of Miami Beach at the Miami Beach Regional Library, by artist and researcher Lea Nickless. Admission is free and open to the public. The exhibition is on view August 8th through November 5th, 2026.
Through painting, mixed media, photography, and historical research, the exhibition explores the creation of Miami Beach from an unexpected perspective—examining the natural landscape that existed before development and recognizing the essential contributions of the Black and Bahamian laborers who helped build the city. The work combines art, history, and archival research to tell a story that is both visually engaging and historically significant.
