NSU Art Museum presents Creativity Exploration: Mindful Monsters
Saturday, October 11th from 12 Noon – 1:30pm NSU Art Museum presents Creativity Exploration: Mindful Monsters. Inspired by the vibrant, surreal sculptures and illustrations of Yu Maeda, participants will create their own imaginative creature sculptures while engaging in mindfulness practices that center on reflection, presence, intuition, symbolism, and self-expression. Creativity Exploration adult workshops promote the benefits of material exploration and the mind-to-body experience. Studies have shown that 45 minutes of creative activity a day reduces stress and offers mental clarity and relaxation. In addition to producing a sense of well-being, sessions expand participants’ perceptions of forms, while increasing brain connectivity through visual and cognitive stimulation. The workshop is led by educator Lark Keeler, a specialist in mindfulness education.
