DESCRIPTION:Thursday\, June 20th from 6:30 – 8pm enjoy a talk about Art & Mythology at Dalé Zine Shop in the Miami Design District. “Art and Mythology” with Keely Sutton Bell\, the final talk from the series ART AS HEALING\, expanding on the topics of Carol Jazzar’s All (W-hole) of Me\, healing through Art\, the art of deconstructing and recreating oneself. PURCHASE TICKETS / RSVP HERE. \nKeely Maude Sutton is an assistant professor of religion at Birmingham-Southern College in Birmingham\, Alabama. She has a Ph.D. in Asian cultures and languages from The University of Texas at Austin\, an MA in religion from Wake Forest University\, and a BA in philosophy and religion from Appalachian State University. Her current research is centered on the Muslim song literature of the South Indian state of Kerala\, with broader research into multiple religious traditions of South Asia such as Buddhism\, Hinduism\, and Islam. She is also interested in undergraduate pedagogy. She has received several foreign language area studies grants awards and an IIE Graduate Fellowship (Fulbright) in 2011.
