SUMMARY:ArtGal.Online presents The Spirit of Domboshava — Artgal Zim Center Exhibition Series I
DESCRIPTION:Monday\, August 10th through Sunday\, August 23rd art collectors and art lovers are invited to experience an online-exclusive exhibition via Artsy presented by Artgal Zim Center / Artgal.Online featuring Keith Zenda. \nArtgal Zim Center proudly presents The Spirit of Domboshava\, the inaugural exhibition in the Artgal Zim Center Exhibition Series. This online-exclusive exhibition features five new mixed-media paintings created by Zimbabwean contemporary artist Keith Zenda in 2026 at his studio in Domboshava\, Zimbabwe. View the exhibition HERE. \nThe exhibition marks a new direction in Zenda’s artistic practice\, moving into abstraction\, sculptural relief\, reclaimed textiles\, layered fabrics\, and metallic pigments. The works explore Africa’s mineral wealth\, sustainability\, resilience\, renewal\, environmental responsibility\, and the complex relationship between humanity and the Earth. \nInspired by the ancient granite landscape and cultural heritage of Domboshava\, the exhibition presents the location not as a literal subject within the paintings\, but as the intellectual and emotional foundation from which the works emerged. \nThe five works form a connected visual dialogue exploring value\, memory\, transformation\, extraction\, and renewal. Through reclaimed materials\, Zenda transforms discarded textiles and other materials into expressive contemporary surfaces\, reflecting on both environmental responsibility and the possibilities of regeneration. \nThe Spirit of Domboshava introduces the Artgal Zim Center Exhibition Series\, an ongoing program dedicated to presenting contemporary Zimbabwean art within an international context and connecting artists with collectors\, institutions\, galleries\, and audiences worldwide. \n  \nIMAGE:\nAbstracts by Keith Zenda\,\nWrapped Echo – Reclaimed Vestige\, 2026\nMixed Media – Acrylic and cloth on canvas\n35 2/5 × 23 3/5 in | 90 × 60 cm

SUMMARY:ArtGal.Online presents Mapiti Spirit Forms: The Evolution of Sampson Kuvenguhwa
DESCRIPTION:Friday\, August 14th through Monday\, August 31st art collectors and art lovers are invited to experience Mapiti Spirit Forms\, an online exhibition presented by Artgal.Online via Artsy\, featuring five selected sculptures by Zimbabwean sculptor Sampson Kuvenguhwa. View the exhibition HERE. \nMapiti Spirit Forms explores the evolution of Kuvenguhwa’s distinctive Mapiti sculptural language and its development toward his later celebrated Dry Tree forms. The exhibition brings together five selected sculptures from the 1990s and 2000s\, offering an intimate glimpse into a much larger body of work created by the Zimbabwean artist. \nKuvenguhwa developed his Mapiti style through close observation of people and everyday life\, transforming human gestures and recognizable forms into distinctive sculptural compositions. Figures appear to rest\, bend\, embrace\, protect\, or turn inward\, while carefully carved openings and voids introduce an intriguing relationship between the physical and spiritual worlds. \nAcross the 1990s and 2000s\, Kuvenguhwa continued evolving this visual language\, increasingly connecting the human figure with organic structures and ideas of nature\, ancestry\, endurance\, and spiritual presence. These developments ultimately laid the foundations for his later Dry Tree style\, in which the boundaries between human figures and trees become increasingly fluid. \nPresented as a focused selection rather than a comprehensive survey\, Mapiti Spirit Forms invites viewers to consider the artistic journey represented by these five works and the evolution of one of Zimbabwe’s distinctive sculptural traditions. \n  \nIMAGE:\nSampson KuvenguhwaMapiti Spirit Forms\,Zororo reMweya – Rest of the Spirit\, ca. 2000Springstone17 7/10 × 37 2/5 × 18 1/2 in | 45 × 95 × 47 cm
