SUMMARY:Mindy Solomon Gallery presents Dirty Words: Mark Flood and Sam Jablon
DESCRIPTION:Sunday\, December 1st from 11am – 4pm experience the Opening Reception of Dirty Words: Mark Flood and Sam Jablon at Mindy Solomon Gallery in Little River. Mindy Solomon is pleased to showcase the works of Mark Flood and Sam Jablon in Dirty Words – an exhibition curated by Bill Arning.\nDirty Words is an exhibition of two very different painters’s work from different decades that nonetheless share the strategy of using words on canvas as blunt instruments to both abuse and delight viewers in equal measure. Mark Flood shows his art historically revered yet under exhibited museum/ gallery works from the early 90’in which official communications from art institutions are mutely replicated. These masterworks are displayed in concert with Sam Jablon’s newly minted luxuriously painted text based paintings. Bill Arning\, who in his museum years organized the first major Mark Flood survey entitled “Gratest Hits” and the Contemporary Arts Museum Houston in 2016 will balance the two mavericks in one space.\n\n  \nImage: Sam Jablon\, Kcuf\, 2019\, Oil and acrylic on canvas\, 38 x 34 inches.

SUMMARY:Artist Daniel Mazzone: 'Life is a Circus' Basel Exhibition at 1 Hotel South Beach
DESCRIPTION:Wednesday\, December 4th from 7-11pm experience LIFE IS A CIRCUS at 1 Hotel South Beach featuring renowned artist Daniel Mazzone during Art Basel Miami Week. The exhibition will showcase all new never before seen pieces of his art and sculptures\, including the release of his first 6 foot YUME collection sculpture. YUME represents the child in each of us that follows their heart\, passions and dreams to be whatever they want to be.\nHailed as “the next Andy Warhol” by Elite Daily\, Daniel Mazzone made his official Art Basel Miami debut in 2015 selling out his entire collection of 24 pieces. Daniel’s vibrant collages include a visual history of his subject—original letters\, magazine covers\, song lyrics—which he assembles to create eye-popping works of art. Some pieces include newspaper clippings from the 1800s\, while others contain rare and exotic artifacts. Daniel’s uniquely authentic style conveys the many layers and complexities of each subject. Above all\, his technique imbues each piece with soul and a deep sense of character.

The Sagamore Miami Beach Hotel will host “I Am Not a Trophy\,” a first of its kind innovative\, immersive and education art exhibition during 2019 Art Week. The opening and exhibition are free and open to the public 24/7.\n“I’m Not a Trophy” is entirely dedicated to endangered species and indigenous cultures that is centered on the work of the esteemed French artist and wildlife photographer Arno Elias. The exhibition is named after Elias’ charitable organization dedicated to creating greater awareness for the rapid extinction of endangered species and indigenous cultures around the world through a visually compelling campaign.\nCurated by Sebastien Laboureau\, resident art advisor of The Sagamore Hotel\, “I’m Not a Trophy” is presented in partnership with Markowicz Fine Art\, the exclusive representative of Arno Elias in South Florida. Pieces will include iconic African animals\, such as lions\, elephants\, rhinoceros\, gorillas\, giraffes\, cheetahs and the last of wild tigers in India\, but also numerous portraits and artifacts from some of the African Tribes whose lives also depend on a fragile ecosystem. Other artworks on display will be from international guest artists who are involved with the cause. Most of the artworks displayed in “I’m Not a Trophy” will be available for sale\, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the charity. This exhibition will on view through February 29\, 2020.\n  \nImage: Photo courtesy of Arno Elias.

SUMMARY:Fabien Castanier Gallery: JonOne Solo Show "Colors of the Uprising"
DESCRIPTION:Thursday\, December 5th at 6pm experience the Opening Reception of urban contemporary artist JonOne at Fabien Castanier Gallery in Wynwood\, the artist will be present. The gallery is excited to present a solo exhibition for JonOne\, Colors of the Uprising\, on view November 26 – January 4\, the exhibition coincides with Art Basel week in Miami and the gallery’s participation in the Art Miami fair which runs Dec 3-8. This is the fifth solo exhibition for JonOne at the gallery\, featuring new paintings on canvas.\nJonOne brings to Miami his latest body of work\, a revelatory examination of moments grand and intimate through the masterful use of movement and color. As the quintessential graffiti-turned-gallery artist\, JonOne continues to present impactful compositions that demonstrate an innate understanding of dynamic form through the harnessing of his own vibrant energy. Delving into his past and conjuring the abstract expressionism of his roots\, these new paintings lend a glimpse into a chaotic yet balanced vision. His pieces are encounters – the story of conflicts\, strife\, and ultimate triumph both within ourselves and in our ever-changing modern world.\n  \nImage: JonOne’s “The Story of Rambo” ink and acrylic on canvas\, 52 x 57 inches.

SUMMARY:Armory Art Center: 3rd Biennial "Artists of Art Salon" Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:Friday\, December 13th from 6-8pm visit the Armory Art Center‘s gallery for the Opening Reception of the 3rd Biennial “Artists of the Art Salon” Exhibition. Donaty’s unmistakable satirical lexicon is a perfect collision of reality and fantasy\, outlandish burlesque\, psychological flirtation and a super charged palette that is like a party about to get thoroughly out of control. She has completed many award winning public art projects\, featured in over 50 national and international publications. She has garnered multiple awards within the design industry\, and is sought after to create unique commissions for high profile residential and commercial projects.
