DESCRIPTION:Thursday\, September 1st from 5-9pm enjoy the Norton Museum of Art‘s popular weekly program Art After Dark – Where Culture and Entertainment Meet. Presenting an eclectic and fascinating mix of art\, music\, film\, and more\, including docent-led tours exploring a particular theme in the Museum Collection or a special exhibition\, and Curators’ Conversations focusing on exhibitions they’ve organized. Art workshops and demonstrations are also part of the fun. \nPicasso’s Paris \n5-8pm / Music\nAcoustic guitarist Bob Alster performs / Central Courtyard\n5:30\, 5:45 and 6pm / Spotlights on Picasso and Friends     \n6-8pm / Sketchbook Thursday: Collage\nBy gluing different materials together into a single composition\, Pablo Picasso and his colleague Georges Braque launched a visual revolution in 20th century art. Create your own collage\, led by teaching artist Sammi McLean. / Davis Gallery\n6:30-8:30pm / Film – Paris: The Luminous Years\nA storm of Modernism swept through the art worlds of the West in the early decades of the twentieth century\, uprooting centuries of tradition. The epicenter of this storm was Paris\, France. Curated by journalist and cultural manager Mario Suárez\, the exhibition aims to discover and gathers a generation of talented creators who frequently contribute to national and international publications\, galleries\, museums and popular brands. Suárez has selected 28 groundbreaking artists such as Paula Bonet\, Ricardo Cavolo\, Carla Fuentes\, Gabriel Moreno\, Silvia Prada and Paco Roca\, among others.
