Recently named one of Europe’s 50 most exciting artists\, in this compelling and often hilarious memoir\, Samson Kambalu introduces us to the country of his birth\, Malawi\, and to his father\, the “Jive Talker.” In this utterly original\, often hilarious book\, Kambalu paints a portrait of an impoverished nation where no dissent is tolerated\, but also a country where a little boy obsessed with Michael Jackson\, Footloose\, Nietzsche & soccer can evolve into one of the most promising conceptual artists in the international art scene.\nThis event is free and open to the public.
