DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, August 12th from 6-9pm enjoy the Opening Reception of Make It Nice Again at Mindy Solomon Gallery in Little River. Make It Nice Again is an attempt to reconcile the realities of our society\, with a desire to focus on our current socio-political climate. As a response to the confusion and unpredictability of our times\, the artists’ strive to recapture a sense of nostalgia and stability\, examining the past as a means to create a dialog to help navigate the future. The exhibition features select 2017 Graduates from New World School of the Arts (NWSA): Cindy Becerra\, Thomas Bils\, Jon Millan\, Emma Del Rey\, Beatriz Rodriguez\, Rachel Lee\, Ema Ri\, Alejandro Valencia. This exhibition will address the uncertainty as we work towards a better outlook. To this end the artists will engage in mutual discourse\, concentrating on a proliferation of creative ideas that form the basis for alternative perspectives.

Sergio Castiglione’s series\, segMOments\, explores a new concept of photography where space builds itself in the finite life of light. From Monet to 2001 Space Odyssey feature film time as a perception has been a major variable of life in culture\, a means to think the real. In the works of Castiglione the metropolis is the place where the Homo Architectus creates a new time device. Tadao Ando\, Le Corbusier\, Sanaa\, Toyo Ito are a few of the philosophers/architects who restate time in their projects.\nExperience panoramic photographs of some of the most significant cities around the world that reveal the view of the artist/architect by capturing the morphological beauty of an architecture that is merged with light as a marker of time. Great iconic cities in the itinerary of the avant-garde traveler make it possible for time to be subdivided and multiplied\, and with the artist’s intervention\, day and night can be reunited in a single shot.
