DESCRIPTION:Thursday\, September 21st from 5:30 – 7pm Museum Circle members are invited to a private reception at the Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) prior to the Scholl Lecture Series\, presented by Goldman Sachs\, featuring New York based artist Carla Gannis. \nAbout Carla Gannis\nCarla Gannis is a New York based artist known for her pioneering work that fuses technology and traditional media\, producing multilayered narratives that challenge aesthetic and societal norms. Her art is characterized by a commitment to experimentation. Throughout her career\, she has worked with an array of mediums and tools\, including drawing\, painting\, video\, extended reality\, and machine learning models. Her multilayered narratives engage with the loci of identity within the context of hyperreal 21st century conditions. Gannis holds an MFA in painting from Boston University. Today she teaches “healing-edge” technology as an Industry Professor at NYU’s Tandon School of Engineering in the Department of Technology\, Culture\, and Society. DESCRIPTION:Thursday\, September 21st from 6 – 8pm the Doral Cultural Arts Center presents Hispanic Heritage Art After Dark Workshop where instructors from Social Crafting will take you through a series of steps to create your own custom wood sign. \nWood\, stencils\, brushes\, sponges\, paint\, colors – this is the perfect workshop for channeling everyone’s inner artist. Participants will enjoy the opportunity to create their own\, custom wood sign with memorable\, soul-warming\, inspirational and fun messages from popular Hispanic phrases or the flag of their own countries of origin. \nAttendees can pick their design in advance from our library of stencils\, and on the day of the workshop they will assemble the boards and customize their design. \nThe designs will be perfect for decorating offices\, kitchens\, living rooms\, man-caves\, play rooms\, garages and everything in between. \n  \nAll necessary materials will be provided onsite and will be based on availability. \nWorkshop is limited to ONLY 30 guests / first come basis. \nRegistration Fee: $10 per ticket / RSVP HERE. \nTicket/Barcode must be provided for entry. \n
