This 1.5 to 2-hour walking tour provides an introduction to the Art Deco\, Mediterranean Revival\, and Miami Modern (MiMo) styles found within the Miami Beach Architectural Historic District. Explore hotels\, restaurants\, and other commercial structures with a visit to a number of interiors. SUMMARY:NSU Art Museum presents Creativity Exploration: Mindful Metal Work
DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, July 12th from 12 Noon – 1:30pm NSU Art Museum presents Creativity Exploration: Mindful Metal Work. Inspired by Kiki Smith’s use of symbology\, which often incorporates animals\, plants\, and mythic imagery to explore themes of the body\, nature\, and transformation\, create a metal relief sculpture using tin and embossing tools. Through the integration of ancient symbols\, engage in a creative process that connects contemporary art practices with timeless visual language. \nCreativity Exploration adult workshops promote the benefits of material exploration and the mind-to-body experience. Studies have shown that 45 minutes of creative activity a day reduces stress and offers mental clarity and relaxation. In addition to producing a sense of well-being\, sessions expand participants’ perceptions of forms\, while increasing brain connectivity through visual and cognitive stimulation. The workshop is led by educator Lark Keeler\, a specialist in mindfulness education. \nPreregistration Required.
