SUMMARY:Locust Projects presents 'How To: Oh Look at Me' featuring GeoVanna Gonzalez
DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, March 6th from 11am-5pm enjoy the opening of How To: Oh Look at Me featuring artist GeoVanna Gonzalez at Locust Projects. View the new site-specific large-scale installation by Miami-based artist GeoVanna Gonzalez\, as well as a video installation curated by Dennis Scholl\, President and CEO of Oolite Arts. RSVP here. Hours: BY APPOINTMENT ONLY Wednesday – Saturday\, 11am-5pm.\nHOW TO: Oh\, look at me deepens Gonzalez’s commitment to creating provocative\, participatory social spaces within institutional settings. As acts of queer infiltration\, class—aware interventionism\, her work wants us to see and explore\, to dance and read—outloud the potential of our embodied cognition. We are only when we interact\, when we commune.\nThe installation functions as the fifth iteration of the artist’s ongoing HOW TO series\, in which Gonzalez creates works of art to accompany poems featured in the online open-source poetry collection tutorials by Martin Jackson at www.tutorials.fyi. Written and shared in cloud-based Google Docs\, readers are invited to comment and edit the poems\, creating a constantly-evolving\, shifting collection of poetry that is never static or complete.

This webinar will explore the extraordinary period of cultural rebirth in Italy at the turn of the 15th and 16th centuries\, which should remind us still today that Le Temps Revient. RSVP here.\nFree for Museum members\n(includes NSU students\, faculty and staff)\n$5 for non-members\n  \nABOUT DR. ROCKY RUGGIERO: Rocky Ruggiero is a professor of Art and Architectural History and an expert on Italian Renaissance art who has lectured at numerous universities throughout the United States and Italy.
