SUMMARY:Centro Cultural Español presents 'The Secret Life of Cities' by Carlos Estévez
DESCRIPTION:Thursday\, September 6th from 7-9pm Centro Cultural Español (CCEMiami) presents the exhibition The Secret Life of Cities by Carlos Estevez from September 6th to October 18th 2018. Special opening for Art Days organized in collaboration with Miami Downtown Development Authority on Sept 7\, 8 and 9. Guided tour by the artist on Saturday\, September 8th at 1 pm.\nAn experiment with different kinds of handmade paper that Carlos found in local art supply stores. The city as a source of inspiration. The view consists of six installations of drawings on paper and an installation of objects that were found converted into masks. A result of the daily experiences of the artist – a conversation between the city’s stories and his own personal world. The exhibition will be on view until October 18th 2018.\nFree Admission / RSVP here.

DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, September 8th from 6-9pm the Department of Art and Art History at University of Miami is pleased to present the Opening Reception of  the 2018 Incoming Graduate Students Exhibition. The MFA program at UM is a 60 credit\, three-year program resulting in a terminal degree that both prepares students to enter the professional\, studio art world and qualifies them for college teaching. SUMMARY:FAR Gallery presents Side Effects by Tina La Porta
DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, September 29th from 6-10pm join us for the Opening Reception of Side Effects\, a solo exhibition by South Florida artist Tina La Porta at FAR Gallery in Fort Lauderdale’s FAT Village Arts District during Art Walk. Tina La Porta will exhibit a wide range of works that explore and express her struggles with her own diagnosis with mental illness. This body of work is both cathartic and reflective for the artist. Since consuming pills have become a part of her daily routine they have become a central focus for many of the works on view. The exhibition will run through November 16\, 2018.
