SUMMARY:University of Miami Wynwood Gallery 2020 Faculty Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:Wednesday\, January 13th from 10am – 3pm the University of Miami Wynwood Gallery will re-open on a limited basis to University of Miami faculty & students. The gallery will remain closed to the general public for the time being. “We will continue to monitor the pandemic and follow CDC and University of Miami guidelines closely.” Annual Faculty Exhibition Extended through January 22\, 2021.\nOn view is the recent works of faculty artists from the Department of Art and Art History. To schedule a visit\, please contact Milly Cardoso\, Gallery Director at m.cardoso1@miami.edu\, or call (305) 284-3161.\nGallery hours are Wednesday – Friday\, 10 am – 3 pm. DESCRIPTION:Friday\, January 15th from 6-8pm Miami Beach Botanical Garden presents the art exhibition ‘Garden Vibrations‘ by Sharon Swift. RSVP here / select from multiple dates after the opening to visit the exhibition now through February 21st.\n“The inspiration for my Exhibition came from several areas including\, What feelings does a Botanical Garden bring? Particularly\, the tropical nature of many of the plants. I was curious about the elements that go into planning a Botanical Garden\, that it is a man made design celebrating life and the diversity and beauty of nature and in the case of Miami Beach Botanical Garden\, the additional element of sharing a border with the Holocaust Memorial and what this adds to the experience. One design is refined\, minimal and elegant and the extreme contrast of the Garden is an exuberance of\, color\, shape\, style\, all beautifully balanced throughout. This added a deeper\, element to my paintings which was thought provoking and meaningful.”
