SUMMARY:Cernuda Arte presents Gina Pellón: Centennial (1926-2026)
DESCRIPTION:Friday\, September 4th from 6 – 9pm Cernuda Arte presents the Opening Reception of Gina Pellón: Centennial (1926-2026). Celebrate a century of the master painter\, Gina Pellón\, at this stunning new exhibition of more than twenty paintings\, collages\, and works on paper. This Event is Free & Open to the Public | RSVP HERE. \nA titan of Cuban art in exile\, Pellón fled to Paris in 1959\, where she pioneered a unique expressionist visual language alongside master Surrealists and Europe’s avant-garde. \nThis collection highlights her use of striking color and abstract female forms that embody what critics called “the joy of being”. Pellón’s five-decade career spanned 150 global exhibitions. Her masterpieces reside in collections worldwide\, including the Musée d’Art Moderne and the Lowe Art Museum. \nCome celebrate 100 years of this extraordinary artist\, whose archive is proudly handled by Cernuda Arte in Coral Gables\, Florida.

SUMMARY:The ARC: PURVIS YOUNG exhibition from The Martin Siskind Family Collection
DESCRIPTION:Friday\, September 18th from 6 – 9pm enjoy the Opening Reception and an Art Panel (Q&A) for the PURVIS YOUNG exhibition ‘Deictic Articulations: The Art of Purvis Young\,’ featuring selected works from The Martin Siskind Family Collection at The ARC (Arts & Recreation Center) in Opa-Locka presented by Ten North Group. The O&A features Curator Dr. Adrianne Von Lates. \nThis show pays homage to the extraordinary legacy of Purvis Young\, an artist whose work has indelibly shaped the history of Miami’s art scene. The exhibition encompasses a selection of works from the collection of Martin Siskind\, a close friend and long-time supporter of the artist. \nFrom his earliest years\, with his Goodbread Alley street display of hundreds of small paintings\, it was Young’s ambition to share his work with as many people as possible. His images cry out to be savored by a large audience\, not locked up in storage. (…) Visitors to this exhibition will be beguiled by images that look as fresh as the day they were painted. They remain forever Young. -Dr. Adrianne Von Lates \n
