DESCRIPTION:Tuesday\, November 29th through Sunday\, December 4th during Miami Art Week enjoy José Parlá’s site-specific installation ‘Roots‘ at YoungArts Jewel Box. Curated by Laurie Ann Farrell of the Savannah College of Art and Design\, was commissioned by Rolls-Royce Motor Cars North America as part of the Rolls-Royce Art Program. The installation of new paintings and sculpture explores the intersections between Parlá’s Cuban and American heritages. The installation will be on view through December 15th. Every year\, the Frost Art Museum welcomes guests to enjoy a complimentary breakfast\, lecture by a noted sculptor\, and guided tours of our Sculpture Park and exhibitions. This year’s guest speaker is Judy Pfaff\, a pioneer of installation art. Judy Pfaff’s vibrant sculptures and sprawling installations carefully piece together plastics\, fiberglass\, steel\, and a variety of materials to create dynamic environments.
