DESCRIPTION:Thursday\, June 20th from 5:30 – 10pm you are invited to experience an exhibition by Miami artist Scott Jeffries at the newly branded Novotel Hotel in Brickell Miami (formerly the Atton). Jeffries is the first featured artist for the art\, wine and jazz night where guests and the general public can view and buy the art. The show is curated by Noor Blazekovic and Alejandro Mendoza of Irreversible Projects. Enjoy live jazz music and sipping on fine wine. Stop by for few minutes or hang out for the entire event—all are welcome at the newly launched Art\, Wine and Jazz Night at Novotel Miami Brickell’s Uva Bar.

DESCRIPTION:Thursday\, June 20th from 7 – 9pm enjoy a joint opening reception for Billie Lynn: A House Divided & Visions of Place at the Lowe Art Museum. University of Miami Associate Professor of Sculpture Billie Grace Lynn is known for creating meticulous\, thought-provoking projects and interventions that address some of contemporary culture’s most pressing issues head-on. Her latest work is no exception: featuring Lynn’s sculptural interpretation of a 26-foot tall hoodie (the garment stereotypically associated with black male youth in America) and an 18-foot mirrored\, kinetic obelisk (modeled on the iconic Washington Monument)\, this interactive\, inter-disciplinary project invites viewers to reflect on identity politics\, civic engagement\, civil discourse\, and democracy’s precarious fragility.\nVisions of Place: Complex Geographies in Contemporary Israeli Art. Visions of Place offers a unique lens through which to view and better understand the complexities of Israel. Geography\, in all its many manifestations – physical\, personal\, religious\, political\, historical\, and economic- among others – is an inescapable part of Israeli life\, psyche\, and art.
