SUMMARY:NSU Art Museum: 'Reawakening the Gods' Live Virtual Lecture with Rocky Ruggiero & Bonnie Clearwater
DESCRIPTION:Tuesday\, October 6th at 5:30pm enjoy a Live Virtual Lecture hosted by NSU Art Museum. Join art historian and television personality Rocky Ruggiero and NSU Art Museum Director and Chief Curator\, Bonnie Clearwater\, for ‘Reawakening the Gods’ Live Virtual Lecture. During the second half of the 15th century\, Italian Renaissance artists moved beyond stylistic imitation of Greco-Roman Antiquity to embrace the depiction of mythological themes and deities\, which they incorporated into iconic works of the Italian Renaissance. During this live Zoom talk\, art historian Rocky Ruggiero will discuss works by artists such as Botticelli\, Leonardo Da Vinci\, Michelangelo\, Caravaggio and Bernini. NSU Art Museum Director and Chief Curator Bonnie Clearwater will add commentary on the persistence of myth in modern and contemporary art.\n\nFree for Museum members (includes NSU students\, faculty and staff). $5 for non-members.
