The exhibition\, entitled Symmetry & Soul\, is on view October 23 through November 20 beginning with an all-day opening reception. This is the third solo exhibition for Jan Kaláb at the gallery\, which will highlight new paintings on canvas. This Event is FREE & Open to the Public. \nFor Symmetry & Soul\, Kaláb presents the next evolution of his body of work. Combining the dynamic movement of rounded and abnormally shaped canvases with the distillation of vibrant and incandescent color\, the artist has created paintings which resonate powerfully within the spaces they occupy. The pieces come alive beyond the limits of the canvas as Kaláb plays with the structural elements of his medium\, incorporating three-dimensional effects to render his pieces with depth and harmony.

A collection of paintings created over the past two years that represent a pivotal moment in Berrio’s evolution. His inspiration springs from the everyday\, the oft quiet and intimate moments which make the building blocks of daily life. This Event is FREE & Open to the Public. \nBerrio’s paintings are at once deeply personal snapshots of his people and his city\, and a sublimely laid out perspective that feels universal and unpretentious. Like much of his past work\, his pieces for this exhibition are documentary-like in nature\, derived from the artist’s photographs. Reaching beyond the simplicity of such fundamental daily happenings\, Berrio’s paintings present a monumental vision of urban life.
