SUMMARY:Compositum Musicae Novae at Coral Gables Museum
DESCRIPTION:Friday\, March 17th from 7:30-9:30pm experience a night of music\, art\, dance and drinks presented by Compositum Musicae Novae (CMN) at the Coral Gables Museum. At this free event\, CMN will feature a wide variety of chamber ensembles performing new music by composers Saad Haddad\, Charles Mason\, Federico Bonacossa\, David Leon\, and Andrew Sigler. Featured performers for the night will include choreographer and dancer Brigette Cormier\, violinist Evgeniya Antonyan\, pianist Masami Miyazaki\, clarinetist Leslie Miller\, trombonist Evan Ringel\, bassist Lowell Ringel\, Saxaphonist David Leon\, bassist Bob Brubaker\, and drummer Kyle Swan. CMN will of course also have its famous art gallery and poetry recitations with Dana de Greff and Jan Becker.\nSeating is limited. DESCRIPTION:Thursday\, March 23rd at 7pm join us for Day 2 of RECESS: Art\, Pedagogy\, and the Social Sphere (Day 1 was by Invitation Only on March 22nd) organized by ArtCenter/South Florida and hosted by Pérez Art Museum Miami. Day 2 is a Public Program\, Free with PAMM Admission.\nOver the past year ArtCenter/South Florida has convened a series of meetings with curators\, artists\, gallerists\, educators\, and cultural leaders from within and outside of Miami to think together about the role of education in forming and reshaping the institutions that we occupy. The questions asked and the lessons learned are the basis for RECESS: Art\, Pedagogy\, and the Social Sphere. Day 2: Research Vectored Into Action presents a variety of programmatic outputs that have resulted from rethinking what can be done with institutional forms.
