NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale has launched Sensory Saturdays\, a new sensory-friendly program FREE for children on the Autism Spectrum ages 6-17 and their families\, before regular museum hours for a sensory-friendly environment and exclusive free museum access. Enjoy making art in workspaces and wandering through galleries that have been adjusted for low lighting and reduced sound. Sensory-friendly materials will be available for all visiting children on the spectrum\, including noise-canceling headphones\, weighted lap pads\, soft seating\, sensory-friendly art materials and a special gift for each child. \nSensory Saturdays are held on the second Saturday of each month through March 2025. Registration opens one month prior to each date. Admission to Sensory Saturdays is FREE with a required RSVP. Space is limited.

Make a mixed media work of art with cut paper and painting inspired by the work of Seoul-born artist\, Haegue Yang and her geometric\, floral motifs that reference shamanistic traditions through their use of symbolism and symmetry. Incorporate your own imagery that is personally powerful and meaningful. \nCreativity Exploration adult workshops promote the benefits of material exploration and the mind-to-body experience. Studies have shown that 45 minutes of creative activity a day reduces stress and offers mental clarity and relaxation. In addition to producing a sense of well-being\, sessions expand participants’ perceptions of forms\, while increasing brain connectivity through visual and cognitive stimulation. Organized by the Miami Design Preservation League (MDPL)\, the festival will celebrate its 48th year in 2025 with the theme: Art Deco Centennial 1925-2025. \nOver 50\,000 locals and tourists enjoy a variety of free events and activities including the artisan market\, guided architectural tours\, classic car show\, lectures\, films\, sketch walks\, kids club\, dog walk\, and a variety of entertaining musical events by local and national performers.
