SUMMARY:Fabien Castanier Gallery presents Ed Broner: 'Culture'
DESCRIPTION:Sunday\, December 6th at 12pm enjoy an art brunch for the opening of ‘Culture’\, a solo exhibition featuring the work of artist Ed Broner at Fabien Castanier Gallery in Little River. The gallery is excited to present a solo exhibition for contemporary French artist\, Ed Broner. The exhibition\, Culture\, is on view at the gallery’s location in Little Haiti. The show will commence with the seasonal Progressive Art Brunch on Sunday during Miami’s Art Week. This is the first solo exhibition for Ed Broner at the gallery\, featuring new drawings and paintings on canvas. On view from December 6\, 2020 through January 9\, 2021.\nFor Culture\, Broner presents a body of work produced during the Covid-19 lockdown at his studio in Berlin. The paintings were executed based on a series of 300 drawing studies created during this tumultuous period. Recalling his earliest practice as an artist\, these pieces are reminiscent of his old blackbook sketches from the 1980s. The paintings open a dialogue on a variety of subjects\, all with a focus on the struggles and confrontations within our current societal climate. Greatly influenced by the media and the events occurring in 2020\, Broner reveals a complex perspective on both the hope and despair of modern times.\n  \nOpen to all visitors practicing Covid-19 distancing precautions.\nPlease wear a mask and keep a distance when visiting.

SUMMARY:Zero Empty Spaces #13 (Miami International Mall) Open House & Info Session
DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, December 12th from 2-2:30pm experience the Grand Opening of Zero Empty Spaces new 13th location\, the first location in Miami with Simon Mall’s in the Miami International Mall (Doral). This Event is Free & Open to the Public\, RSVP here.\nZero Empty Spaces (ZES) aims to revitalize empty spaces by activating them to provide affordable studio space for artists in addition to bringing thoughtful\, high caliber art installations with accompanying programs to the community with the goal of expanding the audience of contemporary art and helping to create a thriving cultural community throughout South Florida. The grand opening will include an opportunity to tour the space\, meet the artists\, hear their stories\, and hear from the creators of this initiative (Andrew Martineau & Evan Snow). “We are making 15+ affordable artist studio spaces available in this location\, all at $2/sqft including water & electric on a month to month basis. (Average space 113ft = $226/mo + tax) This location is a retail storefront in a mall – and being that we are working to activate vacant spaces\, part of the agreement with ownership is that we require artists to be in the space *at least two days per week* to have have the space activated. (Don’t worry\, there’s multiple artists in the space to share a schedule with\, we’ll walk you through that).”\nLight bites & refreshments will be served. Interested artists are invited to join for an open house & information session with Zero Empty Spaces Co-Founder Evan Snow & Andrew Martineau. Masks are required for entrance as social distancing guidelines will be followed.\n  \nAre you an artist that’s interested and hasn’t applied yet? Log on to www.zeroemptyspaces.com and click apply under the artist tab! E-mail info@zeroemptyspaces.com with any questions.
