DESCRIPTION:Tuesday\, November 29th through Sunday\, December 4th during Miami Art Week enjoy José Parlá’s site-specific installation ‘Roots‘ at YoungArts Jewel Box. Curated by Laurie Ann Farrell of the Savannah College of Art and Design\, was commissioned by Rolls-Royce Motor Cars North America as part of the Rolls-Royce Art Program. The installation of new paintings and sculpture explores the intersections between Parlá’s Cuban and American heritages. The installation will be on view through December 15th. SUMMARY:ICA Miami: One Day on Success Street Opening and After-Party
DESCRIPTION:Tuesday\, November 29th from 7pm – midnight celebrate the first U.S. solo museum presentation dedicated to the renowned German artist Thomas Bayrle at the Institute of Contemporary Art (Miami). ICA Miami will host an opening night reception from 7-9pm\, followed by an after-party featuring a live performance by Psychic TV. Admission is complimentary for all ICA Miami members\, select art fair VIP pass-holders and invited guests. The evening celebrates the opening of “One Day on Success Street“\, a major survey for the work of Thomas Bayrle\, the first American museum presentation dedicated to the renowned German artist. Featuring works from the 1960’s through the present day\, the exhibition traces Bayrle’s profound observations of human civilization – particularly through developments in technology and our environments\, over the course of his nearly 50-year career and across a range of mediums.
