Oiticica created various Penetrável walk-in installations that immersed the viewer in color within environments that evoked and celebrated the favela communities of Rio de Janeiro. Recall a fun memory\, and create your own cube of color inspired by the past all in one afternoon. PAMM teaching artists will guide visitors of all ages in art making using color\, shape\, and textured materials to fill their own box of colorful memories. \nAdmission is free all day. Studies have shown that 45 minutes of creative activity a day reduces stress and offers mental clarity and relaxation. In addition to producing a sense of well-being\, sessions expand participants’ perceptions of forms\, while increasing brain connectivity through visual and cognitive stimulation. DESCRIPTION:Thursday\, July 28th from 6 – 7:30pm you are cordially invited to be moved\, literally\, with ‘The Lightness in Being’ art exhibit at the Elliott Museum by video installation artist and photographer Cheryl Maeder. The museum will host an opening reception in the Flex Gallery. The reception is free to members and $5 to non-members with light hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar. The exhibit will feature nine of her installation art videos on three screens in a blackened exhibition space and will remain through October 26th at the Elliott Museum in Stuart\, Florida.
