The pianist and professor José López will perform works by renowned Jewish composers of the Romantic period in Europe. He is also President of the South Florida Chapter of the American Liszt Society and Honorary Secretary of the United Kingdom’s Alkan Society. With a career spanning the United States\, Italy\, and Latin America\, López has performed on prestigious stages such as the Music Festival of the Hamptons\, the Killington Music Festival\, and numerous university series across the US. In South Florida\, he is a prominent figure at events including the Florida International University Music Festival and the former Mainly Mozart Series in Coral Gables. His contributions to classical music extend beyond performances\, as he plays a key role in promoting and nurturing the art form within our community.

DESCRIPTION:Thursday\, August 29th from 6 – 9pm get ready for your new favorite remix featuring The Bass and MyFi Studio through a series of 𝙀𝙡𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙞𝙘 𝙈𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙘 𝙇𝙖𝙗𝙨\, an innovative and interactive experience where participants can create music and art. To further perpetuate the potency of connectivity and collaboration that the internet provides\, The Bass commissioned MyFi Studio\, a multimedia production studio led by performance duo Aimee Rubensteen and Dr. Josh Eisenberg\, to create 404 custom electronic music instruments\, offering a new avenue for internet citizens to co-create new work as a collective. RSVP HERE. \nThe Bass and MyFi Studio partnered to create an interactive art and music-making experience by presenting a series of Electronic Music Labs\, inspired by artist Nam June Paik’s musical roots and artwork titled Internet Dweller (on loan from Art Bridges)\, currently on view at the museum. \nJoin live or online for the opportunity to own\, play\, and create music with MyFi Studio’s newly commissioned electronic music instruments: in real time (2024). Internet Dweller Online Open Studio Sessions will be hosted on Twitch\, while live Internet Dweller Electronic Music Labs will be held onsite at The Bass. Live sessions will feature special guests: Gustavo Matamoros\, Archival Feedback\, and Smurphio. \n*in real time is best played on laptop + desktop computers\, we encourage guests to bring their own laptop and headphones. \nGuests will learn how to play MyFi Studio instruments\, create new media\, and have the chance to own an electronic instrument.
