Tysen currently resides in Palm Springs\, California\, where his artwork can be found throughout the area; as well as hanging in local galleries. Tysen’s love for art has opened the door to many different forms of media including acting in feature films and music videos\, modeling\, and directing his own full-length documentary\, “The Art of Hustle: Street Art Documentary.”\nGrowing up in the peak of the Street Art Movement\, Tysen was inspired by the works of famous street artists such as Jean-Michel Basquiat and Keith Haring. Tysen’s art style also reflects the styles of Fine Artist Pablo Picasso and Pop Artist Andy Warhol. Tysen uses these influences to create unique pop culture graffiti pieces that can not only be found on city murals\, but in Fine Art galleries. SUMMARY:Frost Art Museum: Breakfast in the Park with Petah Coyne
DESCRIPTION:Sunday\, December 8th from 9:30am – 12pm enjoy the 15th annual Breakfast in the Park at the Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum FIU\, an official Art Basel Miami Beach event. Each year since 2004\, the Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum has welcomed guests to enjoy a complimentary breakfast\, a lecture by a noted sculptor\, and guided tours of our Sculpture Park and exhibitions. This event is free and open to the public thanks to the Presenting Partner\, West Kendall Baptist Hospital.\nContemporary sculptor and photographer Petah Coyne will be the featured speaker this year. Known for her elaborately detailed assemblages that hang from ceilings and erupt from the floor\, Coyne uses molten wax\, silk flowers\, sumptuous fabric\, and pristine taxidermy to create works that evoke gothic narratives and the excess of the Rococo.\nCoyne’s work can be found in numerous permanent museum collections\, including MoMA\, The Metropolitan Museum of Art\, Philadelphia Museum of Art\, Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden\, and many more. She is also the recipient of numerous prestigious national awards\, including The Rockefeller Foundation Award\, three National Endowment for the Arts Awards\, and The Pollock-Krasner Foundation Award\, among others.\nThe lecture will begin at 10:00 am.
