SUMMARY:Fabien Castanier Gallery: JonOne Solo Show "Colors of the Uprising"
DESCRIPTION:Thursday\, December 5th at 6pm experience the Opening Reception of urban contemporary artist JonOne at Fabien Castanier Gallery in Wynwood\, the artist will be present. The gallery is excited to present a solo exhibition for JonOne\, Colors of the Uprising\, on view November 26 – January 4\, the exhibition coincides with Art Basel week in Miami and the gallery’s participation in the Art Miami fair which runs Dec 3-8. This is the fifth solo exhibition for JonOne at the gallery\, featuring new paintings on canvas.\nJonOne brings to Miami his latest body of work\, a revelatory examination of moments grand and intimate through the masterful use of movement and color. As the quintessential graffiti-turned-gallery artist\, JonOne continues to present impactful compositions that demonstrate an innate understanding of dynamic form through the harnessing of his own vibrant energy. Delving into his past and conjuring the abstract expressionism of his roots\, these new paintings lend a glimpse into a chaotic yet balanced vision. His pieces are encounters – the story of conflicts\, strife\, and ultimate triumph both within ourselves and in our ever-changing modern world.\n  \nImage: JonOne’s “The Story of Rambo” ink and acrylic on canvas\, 52 x 57 inches.

SUMMARY:Armory Art Center: 3rd Biennial "Artists of Art Salon" Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:Friday\, December 13th from 6-8pm visit the Armory Art Center‘s gallery for the Opening Reception of the 3rd Biennial “Artists of the Art Salon” Exhibition. This exhibition features trends and ideas in contemporary art as seen through the eyes of some of South Florida’s most influential artists\, all of whom have given presentations at Elle Schorr’s Art Salons at the Armory since October 2015.\nThe exhibition features South Florida artist Dana Donaty\, widely recognized for her provocative canvases with unusual narrative. Donaty’s unmistakable satirical lexicon is a perfect collision of reality and fantasy\, outlandish burlesque\, psychological flirtation and a super charged palette that is like a party about to get thoroughly out of control. She has completed many award winning public art projects\, featured in over 50 national and international publications. She has garnered multiple awards within the design industry\, and is sought after to create unique commissions for high profile residential and commercial projects.
