DESCRIPTION:Thursday\, May 2nd from 6-11pm enjoy Free Community Night featuring Haitian Heritage: ROUTE 1804\, Evolution of the Beat at the Pérez Art Museum Miami. ROUTE 1804\, Evolution of the Beat is a curated encounter at PAMM highlighting all that makes Haitian history and music diverse\, unique\, beautiful\, and indispensable. Come dance to the rhythms of Little Haiti’s own Rara Lakay\, and international sensation DJ Gardy’s unique blend of konpa\, rara\, traditional Haitian music\, electronic and house beats. DJ Gardy has developed a new genre of dance music called “Rara Tech” as an experimental genre that introduces traditional Haitian music into the contemporary electronic dance music world. Featured community partners include the Rara Institute of Music\, Radical Partners\, The Music Access Fellowship\, and Sounds of Little Haiti\, which will join this event to celebrate Haitian heritage and music. SUMMARY:The Box Gallery: Ficarelli\, Rohn\, and Rodrigues
DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, May 25th from 12 – 6pm The Box Gallery in West Palm Beach presents Three to See: David Rohn\, Patricio Rodrigues\, Adriano Ficarelli. Special Exhibition at The Box Gallery on view through June 21\, 2019. Patricio Rodrigues is a Cuban born contemporary artist living in Miami. A graduate from National Academy Of Fine Arts Havana\, CUBA with merit to present his work in the 2000 Academic exhibition in the art of engraving\, awarded best thesis project. West Palm Beach-based Adriano Ficarelli is a street photographer who was born and raised in the multicultural environment of Brazil\, with strong family ties to Italy and the United States. He was deeply influenced by his extended family of artists: painters\, musicians\, composers and architects. David Rohn’s work is interested in the ways that social and personal issues intersect and collide. The socio / political environment is diverse and contradictory in ways that are interesting to examine and to de-construct\, and may lead to better understanding why it can be so difficult to feel connected to the larger whole or\, even to oneself.
