Drawing inspiration from The Bass’ current exhibitions\, each month the Art After Hours: Book Club will read and discuss a book selected for its themes relating to one of the on-view exhibitions. \nOctavia E. Butler’s novel\, Parable of the Sower\, is set amidst the global climate and economic crises of the early-2020s. Originally published in 1993\, the speculative nature of Parable of the Sower offers a strikingly accurate view of our world’s current state.
