Guests will enjoy brunch bites and drinks as Berrios shares the inspiration behind his series of works depicting what life is like for Miami locals. This Event is FREE & Open to the Public | RSVP HERE. \nHermes Berrio is a Miami-based artist whose work explores the overlooked awe of daily life. A graduate of New York University (BFA\, 2005)\, he has exhibited internationally across the United States\, Latin America\, Europe\, and Australia\, and his murals can be seen throughout Miami. His honors include two Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grants (2018\, 2022)\, the Ruth and Harold Chenven Foundation Grant (2019)\, the South Florida Cultural Consortium Grant (2023)\, and two Miami Individual Artist (MIA) Grants (2023\, 2024). Berrio was a Fountainhead Studios resident from 2019 to 2024 and continues to challenge contemporary expectations with his evolving practice.

RSVP HERE. \nOver 100 years ago Søren Aabye Kierkegaard set the stage for society to look beyond one’s own concerns with the start of Existentialism. Absurdism emerges after the Second World War as the world grappled with the sense of the meaninglessness of life due to an overwhelming indifference for humanity and the suffering of others. For this year’s edition of: Women Pulling at The Threads of Social Discourse\, and Guests: Don’t Be Absurd\, the exploration of Absurdism is done through the hands of fiber artists.
