DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, October 8th from 11am – 6pm as part of PAMM Free Second Saturdays\, delight in a day of fun-filled art making\, music\, dance\, and food at the Pérez Art Museum Miami in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month\, sponsored by Mariquitas Plantain Chips. \nOutside on the terrace\, enjoy art making inspired by Dominican artist Hulda Guzmán’s landscape artwork\, Under the Flamboyan. Play domino and other games\, eat Mariquitas Plantain Chips\, watch a Mexican Folkloric Ballet Performance by Grupo Folkolorico Timanati\, and dance to music by Djane. Participate in “Show us your colors” art activity and qualify for 10% discount at PAMM Shop\, Verde\, or PAMM Membership. \nInside the museum\, the celebrations continue with a collaboration between PAMM and South Florida PBS\, presenting KidVision Art Room & PAMM Storytime: Masters of the Art. SUMMARY:NSU Art Museum presents Creativity Exploration: Hispanic Heritage Month Sculptural Paintings
DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, October 8th from 12 – 1:30pm NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale presents Creativity Exploration: Hispanic Heritage Month Sculptural Paintings. Inspired by the hinged panels by Carlos Alfonso in the NSU permanent collection\, create an abstract work of art using symbols\, color\, pattern\, and visual rhythm and transform the work into an accordion sculpture. Advance reservations are required\, space is limited. \nCreativity Exploration adult workshops promote the benefits of creative exploration and the mind-to-body experience. Studies have shown that 45 minutes of creative activity a day reduces stress and offers mental clarity and relaxation. In addition to producing a sense of well-being\, sessions expand participants’ perceptions of forms\, while increasing brain connectivity through visual and cognitive stimulation. The workshop is led by educator Lark Keeler\, a specialist in mindfulness education. \nNo prior experience is necessary.
