DESCRIPTION:Friday\, January 13th through Sunday\, January 15th you are cordially invited to experience the 46th Annual Art Deco Weekend on Miami Beach. Art Deco Weekend was created 46 years ago by the Miami Design Preservation League (MDPL) to showcase the beautiful Art Deco buildings of South Beach\, saving it for future generations. MDPL’s early work was the catalyst that created the vibrant\, world-class city we live in today. \nThe festival takes place on Ocean Drive from 5th Street to 13th Street. \nFriday\, Januray 13th | Noon – 10pm / Saturday\, January 14th | 10am – 10pm / Sunday\, January 15th | 10am – 8pm \nEnjoy a variety of events including live dance and musical performances\, lectures\, tours\, a parade and more. SUMMARY:PAMM Free Second Saturdays: Christo Inspired Drawings
DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, January 14th from 11am – 3pm as part of PAMM Free Second Saturdays at the Pérez Art Museum Miami\, create artwork inspired by the museum’s latest exhibition\, by Christo’s Drawings: A Gift from the Maria Bechily and Scott Hodes Collection. Christo and his longtime collaborator and wife\, Jeanne Claude\, were well known for their reimagining of space and place. Inspired by the exhibition on view in the Diane and Robert Moss Gallery\, we invite museum guests to create their own drawings and sketches of reimagined subjects and spaces. For the rest of the day\, you can explore the galleries\, grab a meal at Verde\, or sit back and enjoy the breeze on the waterfront terrace. \nAdmission is free all day. DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, January 14th from Noon – 1:30pm experience Creativity Exploration: Wish Jars at NSU Art Museum in Fort Lauderdale. Set an intention for the new year\, creating a visible and tangible reminder to inspire and move towards the future with your goals in mind. Fill a jar with images\, words\, and objects that keep you on your path. Advance reservations are required\, space is limited. RSVP HERE. \n\nCreativity Exploration adult workshops promote the benefits of creative exploration and the mind-to-body experience. Studies have shown that 45 minutes of creative activity a day reduces stress and offers mental clarity and relaxation. In addition to producing a sense of well-being\, sessions expand participants’ perceptions of forms\, while increasing brain connectivity through visual and cognitive stimulation. The workshop is led by educator Lark Keeler\, a specialist in mindfulness education. \nCreativity Exploration is sponsored by the Charles P. Ferro Foundation.
