Play with color and reflect on gratitude while creating a spiral that expresses your love flowing out into the world. Advance reservations are required\, space is limited. RSVP HERE. \n\nCreativity Exploration adult workshops promote the benefits of creative exploration and the mind-to-body experience. Studies have shown that 45 minutes of creative activity a day reduces stress and offers mental clarity and relaxation. In addition to producing a sense of well-being\, sessions expand participants’ perceptions of forms\, while increasing brain connectivity through visual and cognitive stimulation. The workshop is led by educator Lark Keeler\, a specialist in mindfulness education. \nCreativity Exploration is sponsored by the Charles P. Ferro Foundation.

DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, February 11th from 4-8pm you are cordially invited to the Amadlozi Gallery at the African Heritage Cultural Arts Center\, celebrating Black History Month with the eye-popping Afri-Facture exhibition. Mix and mingle with some of South Florida’s major fans of visual art and culture while exploring the motivated common themes behind collecting African artifacts\, sculptures\, paintings and more. \nThe contemporary Black Atlantic visual art experience is deeply rooted in African culture. The pieces chosen for this exhibit exemplify those connections and personify\, in part\, manifestations of African retentions. Extensive anthropological research have been done on the connection between African indigenous culture and the Black Atlantic. Scholars have proved that customs\, diet\, ….inevitably has a direct link between the Motherland and wherever we are in the new world. \nThe exhibition features artworks from the following collections: \nKay Crawford Collection \nAfri-Kin Collective \nMiami MoCAAD \nAmadlozi Gallery Collection \nFeatured artists include selected works by Purvis Young\, Jouons Sang D’Oeuf\, Angele Etoundi Essamba\, Ras Mosera\, Rene Pena\, Marjaries Marmolejos\, A-Guy and Joshua Duron.
