DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, November 9th from 9:30 – 10:30am enjoy Sensory Saturdays: Free New Sensory-Friendly Programs at NSU Art Museum. NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale has launched Sensory Saturdays\, a new sensory-friendly program FREE for children on the Autism Spectrum ages 6-17 and their families\, before regular museum hours for a sensory-friendly environment and exclusive free museum access. Enjoy making art in workspaces and wandering through galleries that have been adjusted for low lighting and reduced sound. Sensory-friendly materials will be available for all visiting children on the spectrum\, including noise-canceling headphones\, weighted lap pads\, soft seating\, sensory-friendly art materials and a special gift for each child. \nSensory Saturdays are held on the second Saturday of September\, November\, January and March. Registration opens one month prior to each date. Admission to Sensory Saturdays is FREE with a required RSVP. Space is limited.

DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, November 9th from 12 – 1:30pm enjoy Creativity Exploration: Drippy & Trippy Sculpture at NSU Art Museum in Fort Lauderdale. Inspired by the drippy\, otherworldly sculptures of Dan Lam\, sculpt your own creation while exploring organic forms\, repetition\, and play. \nCreativity Exploration adult workshops promote the benefits of material exploration and the mind-to-body experience. Studies have shown that 45 minutes of creative activity a day reduces stress and offers mental clarity and relaxation. In addition to producing a sense of well-being\, sessions expand participants’ perceptions of forms\, while increasing brain connectivity through visual and cognitive stimulation.
