She is also an NEA Jazz Master\, multi-GRAMMY®-winner\, Doris Duke Award recipient\, and Founder and Artistic Director for the Berklee Institute of Jazz and Gender Justice. Carrington has recorded and toured with countless jazz luminaries including Herbie Hancock\, Wayne Shorter\, Stan Getz\, and Dianne Reeves. Get inspired by The Artist as Poet: Selections from PAMM’s Collection at PAMM Free Second Saturdays! Exhibition artists Tim Rollins + K.O.S create works of art right on the pages of books. Create a two-dimensional composition using geometric and organic shapes\, layering materials one over the other. Finish your masterpiece by adding your own words and thoughts or a favorite poem! \nOne of the museum’s most popular education programs\, PAMM Free Second Saturdays emphasizes families making art together. The program is particularly attuned to Miami’s diverse populations led by experienced\, multi-lingual teaching artists. \nPAMM Free Second Saturdays features hands-on activities for children and adults as well as guided tours\, guest artists\, films\, performances\, and more. Every Second Saturday program explores artwork on-view in new and engaging ways\, aimed at inspiring visitors of all ages. Admission is free all day\, with art-making from 11am-3pm.
