Enjoy PAMM’s in-gallery tour program\, Local Views at PAMM is where select local artists speak about a few works of art currently on view at the museum. This month\, Santiague Deprez will lead the tour on Facebook Live. Santiague Deprez is a visual artist originally from the vibrant Caribbean island of Ayiti. Born of the arts\, she is a lifelong artist herself. Graduating from the prestigious Design and Architecture Senior High in Miami\, she pursued her major in anthropology\, accompanied by a minor in psychology\, crowned with a certificate in African Diaspora Studies from Florida International University.\n“As we continue to function in a digital sphere\, PAMM remains dedicated to Miami-based artists and is excited to offer our Local Views at PAMM series weekly. Artists will discuss their artistic practice\, their creative process\, and how it relates to the museum.” Local Views at PAMM gives visitors a first-hand interaction with local artists by creating conversations centered around art and the creative process. Prior to establishing PFA\, Inc.\, in 2016\, Ms. Palmieri led a distinguished 17-year career at Sotheby’s\, where she rose to Chairman of Contemporary Art\, Americas\, and was recognized as one of the most respected in the auction industry as a leading specialist in Post-War Art. Ms. Palmieri founded PFA\, Inc. in order to unequivocally provide her clients with unbiased\, objective and transparent counsel in the increasingly complex and nuanced art market.\nMs. Palmieri serves as Chairman of the Board and Art Advisor to the Berkowitz Contemporary Foundation\, a non-profit foundation headquartered in Miami. In this capacity\, she oversees both the Foundation’s acquisitions and curatorial focus as well as the planning of its Rene Gonzalez Architects designed museum\, set to open in the fall of 2022 and open to the public. Among the collection’s highlights are seminal and monumental works by James Turrell (Aten Reign\, 2013) and Richard Serra (The Passage of Time\, 2012)\, around which the building is designed. In 2018\, Ms. Palmieri joined the Board of Trustees of Anderson Ranch Arts Center\, based in Aspen/Snowmass\, a premier art making destination and catalyst for critical dialogue in the contemporary art world. In 2019\, she joined the Board of Directors of El Museo del Barrio\, New York’s leading Latin American cultural institution\, with an emphasis on works from Puerto Rico and the Puerto Rican community in the city.\nThis SKILLS session is supported by The Maurer Family Foundation.

DESCRIPTION:Wednesday\, May 27th from 7-8:30pm Locust Projects and Oolite Arts present an online conversation with Rita Gonzalez on Facebook Live. Enjoy an edition of online Talks with Rita Gonzalez\, the Terri and Michael Smooke Curator and Department Head of Contemporary Art at Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Many of her exhibitions at the museum have focused on under-recognized Latinx and Latin-American artists. Among the exhibitions she has curated are “Phantom Sightings: Art after the Chicano Movement\,” “Asco: Elite of the Obscure\,” “Lost Line: Contemporary Art from the Collection\,” and “Agnés Varda in Californialand.”\nFrom 1997–1999\, she was the Lila Wallace Curatorial Fellow at the Museum of Contemporary Art\, San Diego. She was on the curatorial team for Prospect 3 New Orleans and part of the curatorial teams for the first Current L.A.
