DESCRIPTION:Wednesday\, March 17th from 7-8pm join Locust Projects + Oolite Arts on Facebook Live for Talks for a conversation with Julie Rodrigues Widholm\, director of UC Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive (BAMPFA).\nJulie Rodrigues Widholm is director of UC Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive (BAMPFA) where she leads the strategic and artistic vision to promote new scholarship\, equity and interdisciplinary teaching and learning in exhibitions\, collections and programs. Prior to BAMPFA\, Rodrigues Widholm was director and chief curator at DePaul Art Museum (2015-2020) and a curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago (1999-2015). During the last 20 years she has organized more than 100 solo and group exhibitions which have been presented at museums across the U.S. such as DePaul Art Museum\, MCA Chicago\, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum\, Perez Art Museum Miami\, the Nasher Museum at Duke University\, MIT List Visual Arts Center\, and Nasher Sculpture Center\, among others. Rodrigues Widholm has authored or contributed to more than 25 publications.\nIn 2019\, Rodrigues Widholm was named Chicagoan of the Year in Museums by the Chicago Tribune and was named one of Chicago’s ART50 Visual Vanguard by New City in 2015\, 2017\, and 2019. During the 2016-2017 academic year\, she was a Senior Fellow in the Institute for Curatorial Research and Practice at the School of the Art Institute Chicago. She has been an instructor\, visiting critic\, and graduate advisor at national universities and has given numerous public talks. She holds a BA in Art History and Political Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (1997) and an MA in Art History\, Theory and Criticism from the School of the Art Institute\, Chicago (1999). She attended the Getty Leadership Institute at Claremont Graduate University in 2019.\nThis lecture will be streamed on both Oolite‘s and Locust Projects‘ Facebook* accounts. DESCRIPTION:Tuesday\, March 23rd from 5:30 – 6:30pm NSU Art Museum presents a live\, online art lecture with Dr. Rocky Ruggiero and Bonnie Clearwater\, NSU Art Museum Director and Chief Curator via Zoom on the subject of\, Le Temps Revient. In 1469\, at a legendary joust in Florence’s Piazza Santa Croce\, Lorenzo “il Magnifico” de’ Medici’s standard bore the motto “joyful times will return.” He inaugurated a golden age of rebirth for his city\, that followed more than a half-century of political\, social and economic turmoil\, that would resonate throughout Italy. Artists such as Botticelli\, Verrocchio\, da Vinci and Michelangelo would all develop under Medici largesse and exported their Florentine genius to other Italian cities. This webinar will explore the extraordinary period of cultural rebirth in Italy at the turn of the 15th and 16th centuries\, which should remind us still today that Le Temps Revient.
