DESCRIPTION:Friday\, September 29th from 6 – 7:30pm join the Museum of Contemporary Art North Miami (MoCA NoMi) for a hands-on workshop led by Art on the Plaza artist\, Sterling Rook. Participants will create a unique spray-dyed silhouette shirt\, using a blend of stencils and mixed media techniques\, drawing inspiration from by the artist’s signature palm imagery from Almost Home. Bring your fabric or shirt\, or select from our limited stock. RSVP HERE. \n  \nAbout the artist: \nSterling Rook is a Miami native and Florida International University fine arts graduate. Their practice incorporates forged steel\, painted palm fronds\, and ropes made from repurposed clothing – redefining sculpture and fiber art.

A prominent figure in the Afro-Cuban Jazz scene\, Cuban-born Montes moved to Miami in the 2000’s\, where he formed his own band and established a style that’s distinctively his own. A multi-talented singer\, pianist\, producer\, and composer\, Montes has collaborated with industry luminaries such as Marc Anthony\, and has partnered with musical heavyweights like Sergio George\, Luis Enrique\, Jose Alberto el Canario\, and Oscar D’ Leon. Join MOCA for an unforgettable musical journey under stars. Seating starts at 7pm\, performance starts at 8pm.
