Enjoy Delray’s First Friday Art Walk for light bites\, refreshments and works by Carin Wagner’s new series\, ‘Reflect’\, as well as the opportunity to view the museum’s current exhibition\, ‘Fabricated’. \nCarin Wagner is an award-winning South Florida artist. She was born in Norfolk\, Virginia. Carin graduated with a degree in Advertising Design from the Art Institute of Ft. Lauderdale\, winning their Angelo DiVincenzo Life Drawing award of a full term scholarship twice. Wagner works predominately in oil on canvas\, with a message of environmental protection at its core.\nShe has exhibited throughout the U.S.\, including representation at the Sherry French Gallery\, New York\, NY\, the Silvia Wald\, Po Kim Gallery in New York\, NY\, the Lawrence Gallery in Scottsdale\, AZ\, the Cultural Council of Palm Beach\, and the Lighthouse Center for the Arts. Her work has been included in multiple museum shows\, including the Ft. Lauderdale Museum of Art\, the Coral Springs Museum of Art\, the Boca Raton Museum of Art and the Cornell Museum in Delray.

SUMMARY:Aventura Mall To Host smART Gallery Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:Tuesday\, March 7th through Saturday\, March 11th from 10am-8pm Aventura Mall will present smART Gallery\, a unique art exhibition geared to families and children. The gallery\, which is in partnership with The Children’s Trust\, will feature more than 40 pieces of art in various mediums created by local and national professional artists. The pieces are themed to promote literacy and numeracy in the Miami-Dade community and will be displayed at eye-level viewing for children to fully appreciate the experience. The event benefits the Miami-Dade Family Learning Partnership\, which helps families gain the literacy and language skills they need by developing parents’ roles as teachers\, so children will have high quality language and literacy instruction to prepare them for school. All artwork will be for sale\, with proceeds benefiting Miami-Dade Family Learning Partnership and the artists. Aventura Mall partnered with Just My Height Art Shows to curate the gallery pieces. Highlighted art pieces will include: “Sandpaper Letters” by Margie Bauer\, “Keep Chasing” by Quintiara Ford\, “Do I Know Enough” by Benedicte Blanc-Fontenille\, and “Heart Hype” by David McCauley.\nSaturday\, March 11\, will be smART Gallery “Family Day” featuring an array of interactive activities for children up to age 12\, including a Digital Graffiti Wall and hands-on projects using the Fresh Paint app for Microsoft Windows 10. DESCRIPTION:Wednesday\, March 22nd from 7-10pm join us for the Opening Reception of Sue Latta: Pridefest Exhibition and Reception at The Box Gallery in West Palm Beach. Enjoy the kick-off exhibition and reception during Pridefest of the Palm Beaches featuring renowned artist Sue Latta – a working artist for over 20 years with a BFA in Photography and an MFA in Sculpture. Her work has been collected throughout the United States and Canada\, and is included in the Permanent Collection at the University of Nevada Reno\, Boise State University\, Boise Visual Chronicle\, Idaho Shakespeare Festival and numerous private collections. She has done a number of public projects and received grants from the Idaho Commission on the Arts\, the Boise City Arts Commission\, ImageArt and the Alexa Rose Foundation. “Steel Sue Latta” is recognized as the “Best Local Visual Artist of of Boise”\, Sue and wife Traci Ehlers are of the two Boise couples married in other states who tried to obtain a marriage license in Idaho in a lawsuit to overturn Idaho’s ban on same-sex marriage. Ultimately resulting in same-sex couples began marrying in Idaho on Wednesday\, October 15\, 2014.\nLatta has served as an Artist in Residence for the LiveStrong Foundation at the Saint Alphonsus Cancer Care Center\, the Visual Studies Workshop in Rochester\, NY and the Boise City A.I.R. program. Currently an adjunct professor of art at Boise State University. She also owns The Sculpture Studio\, a private teaching studio where she teaches a variety of 3-dimensional disciplines. A tireless\, prolific\, and accomplished artist\, Sue Latta is a consummate craftsman\, working seamlessly across a variety of media including photography\, metal and wood fabrication\, and casting everything from bronze and aluminum to plastic and paper. Her current body of artwork proves that she won’t settle into the tried and true\, she is going to continue to push the boundaries of whatever material she’s working with and create work that is unlike anything you’ve ever seen before.

DESCRIPTION:Thursday\, March 30th from 5:30-8:30pm join us at Gallery Art in Aventura for a special evening to raise awareness and funds to fight ALS\, Lou Gehrig’s disease. Ken Hendel and sister\, Amy Hendel\, owners of Gallery Art in Aventura are hosting this event to honor their brother\, Stu Hendel who was recently diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis). The event’s purpose is to spread awareness about the disease and raise funds for ALS Worldwide\, a nonprofit organization that helps Stu and thousands like him in Florida and around the globe. 100% of the proceeds benefit ALS. Gallery Art is a fine art gallery with an 8\,000 sq. ft. showroom that features a world-class collection of artwork from artists such as Andy Warhol\, Roy Lichtenstein\, Keith Haring\, Pablo Picasso\, and many more. The evening will include a silent auction\, light refreshments\, music\, art tours\, a brief video presentation and engaging speakers.
