SUMMARY:The Satellite presents Skip Hartzell in Paws & Claws: Animals in Art Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:Thursday\, November 8th from 5:30 – 7:30pm enjoy the Preview Party of The Satellite\, a project of the Cultural Council of Palm Beach County\, a pop-up space at CityPlace featuring several Palm Beach County artists. Located in the WPB Collective space across from the fountain\, The Satellite will feature “Reimagine\,” a special exhibition of solo artists and samplings of current and past main exhibitions from The Council’s Lake Worth headquarters. The space will also include a visitor information center\, an art and design lecture series and special events and programming from local cultural organizations.\n“Reimagine” will feature Skip Hartzell‘s Dogs in the Paws & Claws: Animals in Art exhibition. South Florida artist Skip Hartzell’s passion and love of dogs in unlimited configurations are joined in his paintings\, works on paper and four-legged sculptures. The space officially opens to the public on Friday\, November 9th at 11am at the WPB Collective at CityPlace. The exhibition is expected to run through the spring of 2019.\nPreview Party guests will enjoy cocktails and light bites. Free to Council members; $20 for non-members. RSVP here.

DESCRIPTION:Tuesday\, November 27th from 6:30 – 8:30pm experience an art talk\, “Profoundly Playful” to ‘Order + Collapes’ – A Time of Transition”\, with contemporary artist Dana Donaty during Art Salons at the Armory Art Center facilitated by Elle Schorr.\nArt Salons at the Armory Art Center in West Palm Beach are a unique gathering place for artists from throughout the region. They offer thoughtful presentations by influential professional artists whose artwork is being shown in museums and galleries in South Florida. Presenters show their work\, and talk about their influences\, followed by stimulating discussions between the artist and the audience. These discussions cover the gamut of contemporary conceptual art practices\, including cultural\, socio/political\, environmental\, race and gender focused and aesthetic practices\, the materials and techniques used to convey these ideas\, and where we fit into the world of contemporary conceptual art.\nAll are welcome to join in this timely exploration of trends in contemporary art and Donaty’s work. All salons are $10 payable at the door and meet in the Armory Library.
