DESCRIPTION:Thursday\, July 16th from 6:00 – 7:00pm art lovers and collectors are cordially invited to experience an Art Talk at Wilton Art Works Gallery in Wilton Manors with Guest Artist Allen Finkel. The artist‘s featured exhibition “Presence Past” on view July 5 through July 18\, 2026. \nFrom the time that Allen Finkel created his first clay head at age eight for a Cub Scout puppet project\, he has been in love with working with clay. This passion led him to study painting and sculpture in college\, where he earned his BFA. After graduating\, he quickly learned that making a living as an artist was not a viable option\, so he followed his other passion – being a psychotherapist. Being a therapist for more than thirty years has informed Allen’s work. He strives to portray the way that life’s joyful and painful experiences affect facial features and expressions. Allen uses his work a way to connect to his emotions\, and he hopes that it will have the same effect others. \nRecommitting to the vibrant programming that first brought acclaim\, Wilton Art Works will feature an outstanding rotation of Guest Artists every two weeks on its dedicated Guest Artist Wall. Each featured artist will be celebrated with an Opening Reception every other Thursday along with artist talks and live demonstrations\, creating engaging opportunities for collectors\, creatives\, and the community to connect directly with working artists. Enjoy the Opening Reception on Thursday\, July 23\, and an Artist Talk on Thursday\, July 30\, where the artist will share insights into his creative process and the ideas behind the exhibition. \nFor the past 45 years\, Anthony Ferrara has worked as a colorist and stylist\, building a career rooted in creativity\, observation\, and transformation. Throughout those years\, he became increasingly aware that many people seem less present in their own lives—as though parts of themselves remain hidden\, incomplete\, or still taking shape. This observation became the inspiration for This Is Me. \nThrough his artwork\, Ferrara explores what it means to be fully seen and fully present. His figures suggest identities that are still emerging\, inviting viewers to reflect on their own sense of self and the ways in which modern life can leave us feeling fragmented or unfinished. \nFerrara studied art and art history at Philadelphia College before pursuing cosmetology\, where he found another artistic outlet through color\, form\, and personal expression. Now\, as he transitions from a distinguished career in the hair industry\, he returns to his first passion—creating fine art. This Is Me marks both a personal homecoming and an exploration of the universal search for authenticity\, presence\, and wholeness. \nWith an Artist Talk on Thursday\, July 30th from 6:00 – 7:00pm.
