Lisbon-based Watercolorist Angela Piedade

Lisbon-based artist Angela Piedade is an internationally recognized watercolorist known for her sensual and fluid artworks. She is a versatile painter who enjoys working with various mediums such as oils, acrylics and mixed techniques, depending on her mood. But it is the luminosity of watercolors that appeals to Piedade, allowing her to achieve a soft, harmonious style.

Angela Piedade is a distinguished medical doctor in Portugal. She was trained in the arts since the early 1980’s. Her art career spans more than 25 years, she has participated in over 60 international art exhibitions and shows. She is one of the selected artists participating in the prestigious Lisbon International Contemporary Exhibition, taking place October 4-18, 2014 in Lisbon, Portugal. The event is being hosted by Meeting Art Gallery in the heart of Lisbon’s Art District, Downtown Chiado.

Several of the works on display will include a variety of the artist’s watercolors from her recent collection, as well as some of her earlier pieces. Miami Art Scene™ is a proud sponsor of this esteemed international art event. Angela Piedade was involved in an interesting project, Urban Sketchers in Lisbon Drawing the City. This project stemmed from her love of drawing, she is known to bring a sketchbook with her wherever she goes. “I have a habit of meeting with my friends to draw,” explains Piedade. “Together we draw people, scenes, landscapes, and slices of everyday life.”
